Monthly well production

This article describes the monthly well production data tables in Lens Upstream

Written by Kishoore Jehan

Monthly well production tables provide well-level granularity driving the asset-level production and economics seen in Lens and asset reports.

Coverage

Deep water assets in the Gulf of America and Brazil. We will add more assets from these regions as we complete the forecast modelling.

Methodology

Our historical, well-level monthly production is sourced from ANP (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis) for Brazil and BOEM (Bureau of Ocean Energy Management) for Gulf of America. The data is processed internally by Wood Mackenzie data processes. Research analysts build best-fit decline curves via Arps or staged decline to build out a future production curve for each well. Analysts utilize publicly available data sources and feedback from our clients to reconcile historical and forecast production expectations to the best of our ability.

well_monthly_production_actual

Monthly well production that is updated in real time, i.e. every month, as new production data is available from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).

Returns a ‘denormalised’ table with monthly production data for wells for liquids, gas and water as well as selected associated descriptive columns.

One row per well per production period.

well_monthly_production_modelled

Monthly well production (historical and modelled forecast) data for currently producing well and forecast modelled wells that are not yet producing. This data is a snapshot of well-level production data at the time of the last annual asset update (last update date is included in the table). Each entry includes data identifying it as actual production, sourced from the well_monthly_production_actual table, or forecast production as modelled by our regional research analysts.

Returns a ‘denormalised’ table with monthly production data for wells for liquids, gas and water as well as selected associated descriptive columns.
