You can find historical total installed capacity for renewable energy technologies including solar, wind, and battery storage using the Global Renewable Power Forecast - Wood Mackenzie Data Hub

Steps to access the data

  1. Open the Global Renewable Power Forecast in the Wood Mackenzie Data Hub.

  2. Use the location filters on the right-hand panel to select:

    • United States, Europe, or specific countries/regions as required.

  3. Select the relevant technology (solar, wind, battery storage).

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the dashboard to view the underlying data table, which shows historical installed capacity.

  5. Use the export option to download the data for further analysis.

This dashboard provides a consistent view of historical installed capacity across regions and renewable technologies.
