In the context of gold production:

  • Mined material: Refers to the total amount of material extracted from an open-pit mine. This includes both ore (gold-bearing rock) and waste rock (non-gold-bearing material).

  • Mined ore: Refers specifically to the gold-bearing ore extracted. In underground operations, such as at Carrapateena, the "mined ore" figure represents only the ore removed, excluding waste rock.
