Understanding the methodology behind allowances in the Copper Supply Imbalance Table

Individual projects are not directly selected for inclusion in the Copper Supply Imbalance Table. Instead, the allowances are calculated from the total available production across projects, using weighted assumptions:

  • 70% for brownfield probable projects

  • 50% for greenfield probable projects

  • 20% for mine life extensions

These calculations are detailed annually in the Copper Mine Analysis Excel download, specifically within the PROJSUM for DV and MineLifeExtensions tabs.
