Lens refers to countries and similar administrative entities (e.g. joint developments areas, administrative regions, overseas territories and disputed locations) solely for the purpose of illustrating energy and natural resources and their de facto controllers based on current operational realities. It does not represent a formal stance on international boundaries or territorial disputes.

The depiction of borders on maps is for informational purposes only and does not reflect official or internationally recognised borders in any areas of dispute.

Where applicable, Wood Mackenzie adheres to the UN classification for country names. Due to technical limitations, special characters may not be recognised, resulting in discrepancies between the country names displayed in tables, maps and charts and those used in written materials. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure consistency in our data.
